Jon Knighton has just retired ( July 31) from BFBS after 40 years  broadcasting to British forces.  He started as a trainee presenter/ producer in Gibraltar, working in Cyprus, the Falklands and Germany as well as the UK.

For the last 25 years Jon has run the Sports department at BFBS. Over the past few years his team has developed extensive coverage of military sports teams and individuals, now covering live more than 60 events a year, attracting over a million views worldwide on the Forces News You Tube Channel. 

Prior to joining BFBS, Jon worked for BBC Local Radio stations in Yorkshire as a sports presenter and reporter.
