David is an award-winning sports documentary director and producer and oversees all of Pitch Productions’ creative output. He has directed, produced and executive produced projects for Netflix, Amazon, Universal Pictures and Sky Documentaries.

His first feature, Crossing the Line, won Best Documentary at the 2017 British Sports Journalism Awards. Having set up and executive produced Amazon Prime’s first foray into the Brazilian market with All or Nothing: Brazilian National Team, David then directed and produced the Grierson-shortlisted Pelé for Netflix in 2020. Following a consultant producer role on Netflix’s Neymar: The Perfect Chaos, he directed the acclaimed The Figo Affair, a number one documentary for Netflix in Spain.

In 2023 he executive produced Deadline Day for Sky Documentaries; and produced the Broadcast Sport-nominated Mark Cavendish: Never Enough and the SJA-nominated Race to the Summit, both for Netflix. David has just finished directing and producing two new feature documentaries for Netflix, both to be released later this year.
